I was out Saturday after the snow/sleet, trails were good. Went from Ludlow to North Springfield up rt5 to South Woodstock, Then further up rt5 towards Hartland and then baclk to Ludlow, about 95 miles. Snow was great untill the end and then it got really bumpy. They will need more snow though.

Chittenden and pittsfield have been really good ...... also take a closer look at the forcast we may get luckey. with the groomed base it really doesn't take that much to get conditions back to rideable.........

You are right, Charlie. Over the past weekend they were calling for temps to hit the high forties with rain. Need a dump.

Hi Slimlynn1 - your link is not working right now - where are they forecasting 10 inches? Central VT?
I'm looking for a place to target for this coming weekend - please let me know - thanks!

HO Sled that link is good but it only lets 10 people at a time on. You also have to install the software to view it. I am not exactly sure where the camera is, it is somewhere in West Groton. The forcast I mentioned is for Ludlow area. I just checked the camera and it is coming down pretty hard.

HO Sled, I see you are from Orange, I am in Hamden, not to far from you. Do you trailer up when you go, or do you have a place in VT?

Almost neighbors! Glad to hear the snow is falling, it is really needed.
I do a little of both - if time is limited a quick ride to Woodford for a day trip works OK, I use a friends place in Halifax for longer trips. It's close to Woodford and Wilmington, and closer to northern destinations if we want to drive to some place different.
Next season I think I will get a season rental somewhere like Ludlow or in Caledonia county and keep the sleds there, seems much easier.
How about you - trailering or have a place up there?

Southern VT snow conditions have been minimal, going further north seems to be more reliable.
Do you ride mostly in the Ludlow area? Is there a good variety of trails and the ability to put together a good 100 mile day if you wanted to? I guess I'm looking to see if you recommend the area as a primary area to ride?
I'm trying to figure out where I should set up camp for next season - central VT or further north, like somewhere in the North East Kingdom - any thoughts?

I was up last weekend and rode 95 miles on Saturday. I usually go North from Ludlow up Rt 12 or something. You can get anywhere from the Ludlow area, it is a prety good area as far as night life as well. You would probably have more consistent snow further north I would imagine.

There is the Pot Bell Pub right in down town Ludlow. Kilarney's is right at the access road to Okemo, and there is Dads right by Okemo. I am sure there are a few more.
