Does Vermont offer a visitor permit? And how long is it good for?

What does it cost? And what is the easiest way to get one?

Thanks!

For out of state - your looking at about 175 with trail pass (TMA) and registration. Also, you need to show proof of insurance so add that in too.

You can go out to www.vtvast.org and get all the info you need. Hope this helps. I do believe this year they are offering a weekly pass, which maybe cheaper.

Thanks for the link.

$95 per sled for non-residents. Also:

The Board of Directors has chosen not to issue either a family or weekend pass. The VAST Budget is based on the sale of a certain number of resident and non-resident TMAs and it is hard to calculate the affects that the above would have. If revenue was less, the cost of all TMAs would have to increase. Many clubs offer discounts on club memberships for multiple memberships and/or credits for hours working on the trails.

So, as per the web-site, if you want to visit Vermont for a couple of days, it'll cost you $95!!! Not really condusive to tourism.

Hi everyone - newbie here. I think the surrounding states are the same. NH seems to be around $100 or so but no insurance requirement, and NY seems to be around $100 or more and has an insurance requirement, so VT isn't alone. It would be nice to see the states join together and offer some reciprocity, but that reduces revenue, so that won't be happening.

Love the site, just got back into sledding after not owning one for a long time. I bought a 1999 MXZ 670 HO (LOVE it, it's a ROCKET) and a 2003 Grand Touring 380F - nice sled, real simple and OK for taking the kids riding - and good for my 15 yo son who is learning to ride by himself - not too fast.

So, let's see some new snow so I can go back to VT and spend some tourism dollars!!

A 5 day resident pass in VT is $65.00 non resident is $95.00. They are available from anyone selling TMA's. You don't need a VT registration for the pass but you do need insurance.

The full season is $130.00 non-resident.
