Do you guys have these? I have ridden for 3 years in New York State without the 3" numbers.

QUOTE
Snowmobiles must be properly registered with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. A five dollar ($5.00) registration fee and a two dollar and twenty-five cent ($2.25) issuing fee is collected for the issuance of a three-year registration. Proof of ownership is required. The applicant's old registration card serves as proof of ownership for a renewal registration. Proof of ownership for a new or transfer registration may be verified with a dealer's bill of sale or a Snowmobile (Form BMV-5706). Any full service deputy registrar is to issue registration certificates, transfer certificates and changes of owner's address certificates. Registration certificates for snowmobiles are accompanied by an alphanumeric decal to be applied directly to the vehicle. The registration is valid for three years. A three-year validation sticker must be attached to these plates. The original registration number for all vehicles is permanent and must remain with the vehicle. All registrations expire on August 31, in the third year after the date of issuance. Application for renewal of a registration may be made no earlier than ninety (90) days prior to expiration. Section 4519.04 requires the owner of a snowmobile to paint or attach on the vehicle in some manner the identifying number (original validation number). The number must be in block characters not less than three (3) inches in height. and of such color as to be distinctly visible and legible. This number must be displayed as follows on both sides of the cowling and is always prefixed by the letter S.

My friends and I have rode in Michigan for 10 years and never had them on any of our sleds. The main thing there is having your Ohio sticker on the sled. By the way do you still have the trailer you bought from me?

Yeah still have it. Working out good. I'm debating on putting the numbers on, nobody has asked yet.

For what it's worth, I asked around about this as well and was told that as long as I have the OH sticker on my sleds and the small red(this year) NY sticker, then I am good to go. From what I was told, if you live in the state and primarily use your sled there, then you have to have the numbers as well.

I'm certain there are many opinions out there and this is just one.

By your screen name, which boat are you running out at Chippewa Lake?

86 Ski Nautique, Grey and Maroon, its out about 5 days a week in the summer.

Nope, not from Chippewa, but just down the street in Copley. My first boat was an 85 SN 2001 same colors as yours. I too run about 5-6 days per week, however we head to a small private lake about 45 minutes east.

What lake?

I'm trying to find a new lake to move to or find a few people and build one.

Ever been to any of our Ski Shows in norton?

Many times and I I have to say you guys are great and put on a fun show. I've had the pleasure of skiing Emerald Lake several times as a guest of Mike, who as you already know is a great ambassador for the sport in general. Keep up the great work in the show.

As far as the lake I belong to, it is Stillwater, located out in Deerfield. Pretty much it's just a slalom lake, as it only measures about 2000'long and 225' wide, with a turn island at one end. I keep my boat there and then I generally take it to Westbranch for some footin' on the early morning weekends, then tow some wakeboarders. The owner of the Stillwater is actually getting ready to build a second lake that will be 2100'long, and about 225' wide and roughly 8' deep, and there will be lots available on it.

Much like you, I have been searching for that place to build a lake, however, as you know, land does not come cheap and the cost of digging is pretty steep, that is if you can get past all of the legal stuff. I do have a couple of things in the works that would make it possible to ski much, much closer to where I call home, so I'll keep you informed if/when something happens.

I have a lake I have my eye on not far from Chippewa. We should get together and compare notes sometime.

Come to think of it, I may have met you at some point???

I have mine registered in Michigan, but my family just go with the Ohio sticker. Love when the Michigan DNR pulls them over and thinks they got them because they can't see it since it is on the RIGHT side. They just shake their heads and complain about Ohio.
Ski Nautique..........Glad to hear others form Ohio have them. Most of the boats on my lake are Malibu's.

I just put my OH stickers on the sleds the other day and had to read the directions twice because it said to place the sticker on the right side of the sled. Certainly made no sense to me, because anyone yu pass that would want to see it would be on the left going the other way. I wish OH would just let you put them on the front of the winshield at the bottom or something like that.
