In case I ever getg the chance down the road, what is required in NYS for trail passes, insurance, etc?
Could not find a good link-

How long did it take you to get there from palmer?
I live in westfield and trying to gauge time.
I'll be up for a trip after the new year.
Thanks

Hey everyone!
well.........IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!! With the exception of a couple of mud holes it was near perfect! Trails had been groomed Thursday night, Friday night and again during the day Saturday. It got bumby in some areas and some rocks came through in others but what do you expect for early December.
All the trails up top were perfect, go to the New York forum and take a look at some pics posted there. I brought my camera but left the damn memory card stuck in my computer at home.
Friday was very cold, biting cold but Saturday warmed up to a comfortable level. I thought it was going to crowded as hell but it wasn't bad at all. I'm not positive but I think I put about 200 miles on the sled.
At one point I came down a major trail that hadn't been ridden much to find it blocked by a closed gate. It was very odd to be closed but I figured the adjoining trail system must still be in muzzle season. I sat down for a smoke and was quickly joined by about 8 other riders, on BOTH sides of the gate. One guy on the other side said that someone was on the way to open the gate, 15 minutes later there he was.
I hooked up with the two on my side for the rest of the day, we had a riot!
It took me all of 4 hours from Palmer to get to the Constableville trail head just off Rt 26. I don't know when I'll have another chance to go but I know the way now.
By the way, Registration in NY is relatively inexpensive, $45.00, you have to have proof of club membership in NY, $25.00 and then show MA registration. Insurance is manditory though you do not have to show it to the registry.
I WAS stopped by an EC, Environmental Cop, he looked at everything. Out of staters do not have to display registration numbers by I think there is a sticker for the year, I didn't get mine yet.

Glad to hear that you had a nice time. Maybe I'll get out there sometime this year.
