I'm looking for some new guys to ride with because my current buddy's have all become lazy. I'm in Regina and am willing to travel to meet up. Would like to make a trip to PA seeing how they get snow like every day. So if anyone is interested just let me know and maybe we can work something out. Thanks.
Chris K
I'm probably up for that. I live in Saskatoon and would like to make the trip to PA a few times this winter. The problem is that I work Saturdays but usually have Wednesdays off. Let me know when you're planning on making the trek.
Chris.
tweety4320
I will let you know for sure. It probably won't be until after the new year because I will be busy with X-mas stuff the next few weekends. When would be the best for you?
showtime247
PA sucks, come to LA, wayyy more snow and lakes and sh*t
freakshow12
I am in melfort and we have good snow in the nipawin area. we ride from our cabin at the ski hill which is 35 miutes north of us. we would be up for a ride. we usually get to the yorkton area once a winter too

What's LA, La Ronge. If it is I would love to come there. I haven't been there in years. Do you have a bed for me? ha ha.
showtime247
yeah La Ronge, and theres plenty of motels/hotel thingys. riding gets real good somewhere by janaury.

Same goes for you. You got a bed, I am in. lol. Nipawin is really nice. No wind so lots of powder. I don't even start my sled around here anymore because we never get snow, and if we do there is a 60mph wind so everything is rock hard.
tweety4320
Seriously though, I am going to keep you guys in mind. It is always much better riding with someone who knows the area.

How long of a drive is it from Regina again. I forgot its been so long. And do you know how much the cheap Hotels are?

Isn't LaRonge like 5 hours north of Saskatoon?
That would make it a 7.5 hour drive from Regina, each way, assuming you don't hit S'toon during rush hour. Yikes, you must really love snowmobiling, lol.

PA is just over 1 hour north of Saskatoon, and there's some GREAT riding up there (so I hear). Problem is, I've never been... so kind of a blind-leading-blind deal. Bring your GPS and charge your cel, lol.

I might be up for some riding. whereabouts do you usually ride. I know what ya mean about lazy friends none of my friends have a sled and my cousin whom I usually ride with has to use one of mine.

Yeah, 8 hrs might be a bit far. It would be fun to get a few of us together and do it once though. Split the cost of hotels and stay there for 4 or 5 days. I do really love sledding. I've been on one since I was 10 or 11, something like that. But we haven't had good snow around here since 2001, when I bought my Summit of course. I've had one good year of riding with this sled. Brutal. The last few years I've tried to make the switch to sport bikes, and it is fun, but you just can't bust drifts and climb hills. All you do is get speeding tickets.

I actually haven't riden around here in a few years. We usually trailer at least an hour and go from there. There's some not bad places around here, but you need good snow cover. There's some pits around Pilot Butte, Teddy Bear Hills by Davin, and Lumsden is ok, but all these places have lots of rocks so you need good snow. But if you have any ideas I'm up for anything. If you want to go somewhere let me know and I will give you my number.
doo_pwr
I'm in Regina and wouldn't mind hooking up and going riding over the weekends...I have weekends off so I'm free from Friday evening to Sunday night.
tweety4320
Sounds good man. Just let me know when you want to go for a rip and we can exchange #'s or something. That sounds kinda 'odd' doesn't it. ha ha.
showtime247
oh no, the drive isnt close to 5 hours, its about 2 and half hours north of PA, amd believe me, here is waayyyyy better riding then PA.

V5300
Wow nice Cabin.

Laronge I believe is 3 hours from saskatoon making it about 5.5 from Regina

We should schedule a doo talk SK ride in Feb if you want good snow you have to go atleast an hour north of PA
freakshow12

That cabin looks deadly. So how far is it from Regina? Because I would be in for sure. We should go there in the next few weeks after new year's. Yeah, I went to Greenwater last year, but it was a bit early. We went right after X-mas and they were just starting to get dumped on. Never made it to Hudson Bay, so I would be in for that. There we go, two awesome trips, Nipawin and Hudson Bay. Sounds like a good time.

That is a sweet Avatar man. I should try that on the Gixxer. ha ha. I say we plan a trip for the long weekend in February for sure.

I'm glad I started this thread. I didn't think I would get this much response. I'm gettin' a little excited now. Haven't in the last few years because of the guys I ride with. What we should do is make a contact sheet with everyone's name, age, phone #, and location. Just to make it easier to keep track of what's going on.

I would like to go to Duck Mountain as well if anyone would be interested.

Papasled and I are not far from the Ducks 40 minutes or so. We will also be heading to Hudson Bay area next week if we can find it.
We are in Canora which is 25 minutes from Yorkton 2 hours from Saskatoon and Regina. We have lots of snow but unfortunately it has been so cold we haven't ridden much.

Heading out first thing Sunday morning tho to explore all the new to us trails. Let us know when you guys head this way....we can all ride together.
tweety4320
That sounds good. We should all go to Duck Mountain together. Lowers the cost and makes it alot more fun with lots of people.
freakshow12
I also know a crew from edmonton that I met on here that love duck mountian and would be up to go. we will see how the new year plays out and we should definately get together. saw a nice 800X gade XP at the hill today too
Manatee
As for the trip on the long weekend in Feb. We have it planned. We are going to Greenwater. Leaving Friday and Coming back on Monday. This will definately be a great time. If you want to come, phone up there and book a place to stay. We got 2 cabins for cheap. They will both be full, but we would be glad to meet up with other dootalkers if you guys are interested. Our crew will consist of about 12 guys or so. Always good snow up there from what I hear. I have never actually been there. But I hear amazing things.
Freakshow, let me know if you will be at your cabin that weekend. Maybe we can meet up for a beer or something.
tweety4320
That would be a great time at Greenwater, but i was just there last year and would like to check out some new places. I'm thinking Nipawin, PA, and Duck Mountain. But who knows, maybe if I talk nice to Freakshow I could squeeze Greenwater in. He said he has a cabin there and at Nipawin. In a couple weeks I should know more of what's going on. I can usually only afford 3 good trips a year.

Buffalo Narrows always has good snow. We are further north and west of La Ronge (About 4 hrs). Its pavement all the way north of Meadow Lake. My wife owns the restaurant and motel here and their is always rooms on the weekend. Riding varies form lake to tight trail to pounding drifts at the sand dunes.

We charge 85 for a single and 95 for a double 110 for a Kitchenette (double bed), all beds are queen size, 5 rms face lake (50 ft from your patio). If a group of guys plan to come up than we can make a better deal on the rooms. I have left Regina at 1 and been at home by 7. Thats pushing it but it should not much longer. The roads up north are better in the winter. Hwys are great up to Green Lake.

You have cabins at all the prime spots.
Perhaps we will see you at Greenwater in Feb. if you are out there.
tweety4320
Wow freakshow, there is alot of snow in that pic! Looks like a good time. How's this sound? You let me know your plans this winter and maybe we can hit up both your cabins, depending on your price of course. ha ha.

Hey guys I lived in PA for 9 years moved to Regina this year. I just picked up an 800 summit 154 and so did my buddy. I wanted to take him up to PA for a ride in about the 3rd week of Jan. If anyone is interested in a ride around that time PM me

Cheers Jeramiah
tweety4320
Sorry for not getting back to any of you guys. I ended up getting transferred to another job and now I can't get any days off for a longer weekend. And if I am going to drive 3 or 4 hours to meet you guys I would want an extra day at least. A normal weekend just isn't enough time to ride. What are everybody's plans for the long weekend in Feb?
Manatee
We just changed our plans for the long weekend in Feb.
We were going to doo Greenwater, but there isn't much snow there from what I hear. Now we have cabins booked up in Nipawin. Supposed to be lots of snow up that way.
If you are heading that way, let me know, maybe we can have a brewski together.

Nipawin is nice..been up there a few times this year already..stay on the trails though...don't want you ruining any of my play areas for March when the real good conditions develop up there!! smile.gif

Yeah,
I'll think about that. Don't worry, after we leave, you will get some more snow I am sure.

I can tell you this - it's deep. I can carve cookies in most any field. If you venture a half mile of the trail almost anywhere, you'll find untracked pow and lots of it. Last time I was up there, which was a couple of weeks ago, I needed to kick down 15-18" before I hit the tip of any stubble. Stubble is 12" tall.
Seems a bit deeper around the lake.
Brrrraaaaappppp! smile.gif
