I can't tell if there is a land bridge connecting Campbelton to the Gaspe by looking at maps. Is it possible to ride from Campbelton to the Gaspe? If water crossing, does it freeze solid and safe?

Haven't done it yet but it does freeze over for a water crossing and I understand when the river isn't safe there is someone that will trailer your sleds across the bridge. NBRenegade over on Hardcoresledder.com gives good info for northern NB

There is open water at this time. At some point(possibly Jan.) the river will freeze, however there are a # of trucks that will provide transportation across
the river.

Our trip will be the first week in Feb. However the thought of having to risk a large water crossing or killing time with having to find someone to trailer us across is not sitting well with me. We will probably leave Fort Kent, ME and try to make it to Matane, thru Rimouski instead. Thank you for all the information

There is a flatbed and truck there, I think they charge $10 a sled. You can check with the Howard Johnson in Campbelton.

There are 2 companies that transfer sleds across the bridge. If arrangements are made the nite prior to crossing there would be no waiting time
