I know there isnt snow on the ground yet but I just moved to Ellington and was wondering if there are any trails in Ellington, Somers or the surronding areas.

I ride in NH on the weekends but I was hoping for some puckerbrush trails around the house to just shoot around on a weeknight

yeah theres trails in Somers, one of the few legal spots to ride in the state when there is enough on the ground that it, well technically its the dirt roads in Shenipsitt state forest, but its local and you can ride it, I have and will if there is enough snow, its close so you can ride after work for a couple hours then go home

not much there but 10 miles or so of dirt roads is better then nothing (I drive by the back entrance to and from work so its not even out of the way)

there are also some trails that lead up into the woods around Hasbro and the state prison

on another note you have to be registered in CT to ride it, but you CT residents get taxed if you reg, I am out of state so the first day there is enough snow in ct to ride (if it happens) I will shoot down and reg in enfield then hit some riding there, but no tax for me wink.gif

There are some trails in Ellington, unless you have permission on private land you have to be registered. its not very expensive if you have an older sled. Their used to be a a club called Flatlanders but im not sure if theyre still going. Theres tons of trails to ride once you register though.
My uncle has some land in town and once we get enough snow and youre interested we could go riding. Just get back to me and we could hook up. What are you riding?

This is a really old topic, but try Mountain Laurel state park in Union... there are a bunch of snowmobile trails throughout there.
