Just picked up a 90 Safari GLX. It was a non-runner when bought. Faults were a broken spark plug and gummed up carb. I noticed that the carb float arm was bent about 3/16" difference between the 2 sides. I straightened and tried to run it. It will run now but not great. It will only idle for a bit and then it eventually bogs out and dies (either fuel starvation or too much?). If I keep blipping the throttle it will continually idle. I suspect that the needle valve may be worn but I also want to get the float set to the right height. So after all of that... does anyone know the float height? Is it measured from the gasket surface or the edge of the casting?
Float level is 22-24 m.m I cant remember if it the gasket surface or not .SORRY
needle in #3
Main jet size 280
Pilot jet size 35
spark pluges BR9ES 0.4 m.m gap
P.S.dont forget to remove the pilot jet and run a small wire into the jet
I HOPE THIS HELPS
