We are planning a trip to Isabella, staying at the Pine Stump cabin/bar from 12/28-1/1/07. If they got snow.

Pine stump never heard of it, do you mean the Knotted pine Inn and bar. Not looking to good for snow right now we got about an inch of wet heavy stuff last night and the roads are a skating rink right now..

HEY: we have reservations there for Dec 26, 27, & 28. It will be our first time riding in NE Mn. It sounds like you will be coming in as we are leaving. If we don't see some snow in the forcast soon though we are going to have to cancel.

I am definately interested in this one!! I love your trails, well when there is snow I do. Anyways, I know my buddies and I from Duluth would definately do it. Keep me posted. Sorry I didn't respond sooner, Haven't been checking here lately because of the lack of snow.

I think we should plan for a ride around the last week of jan first week of feb. I will be gone the same time as you so mid feb is a no-go for me.

Vermilion to the falls was my planned route. Should be a fun time.

We'll start planning more after the holidays.

I sure do hope we get some of the snow they say we are going to get. especially since the ground is good and frozen it may stay for a while. A ride up to the Falls sounds good to me or maybe even up to Ash River and back would be good also, that could be done in one day if we dare take the Vermilion River from the lake...

Me too, a buddy of mine and his wife own the 19th hole restaruant up there, I haven't seen him in a couple years now would be nice to call him when I get up there and tell him we are coming over to the Bar..to spend some money..

Most likely we will probably start out from some place like Fortune Bay Casino. Tons of trailer parking there and a place to stay for out of towners. I'll let everyone know the date (when its set) with a post in General so that all the Minnesota area people that dont check this thread can plan if they feel they want to be a part of the ride. Lets make it the biggest dootalk ride in Minnesota, ever!

I love the 19th Hole. Great bar. Great food. Great people. Also, the Muni ain't bad either.

Ok. That is the plan. Im aiming to try to get atleast 2 weeks notice, but with the lack of snow now. It might be hard to count on any date as of yet.

Thats all good but lets not get too carried away. A good sized group of dootalkers/wives/guests is good but we dont want so many people that we have to ride 30 mph the whole way there. I like to move at a fast pace.

Last weekend in Jan works better for me. Might be able to swindle time off on 3 & 4th of Feb.

sorry to jump the gun. i just am wanting to ride soo bad... well you get the picture. last weekend of january works well, it is in between dogsled races. i think feb would work too but i would have to check. basically i am impartial.

at least if there is no snow by feb 4th, we can all have one nice super bowl party somewhere

From what Ive heard Feb 3-4 would be the best, especially for me. Give it another week to snow also. Temps should be well below zero by the end of this week and the river if it isnt fine now, will be for sure good enough by the 3-4th.

Keep in mind that the end of jan first week of feb is the coldest 2 weeks of winter usually..... Temps might be -20F below or colder in the morning when we leave.

Thats not cold unless you came from down south. I can handle -20 any colder than that and I will pass on the ride. Can't have any fun if you are frozen for most of the ride.. I'd rather ride in the rain than in -30 F

barely enough close to home. But North West of Vermilion needs more. It has got to snow atleast once before the 3rd or Im quitting forever.

Ya this no snow is starting to really suck big time, now it is -20 F or colder every night for a weeks stretch...
It is ridable but not real great out there.

No new snow predicted by this weekend. If we dont get any by the ride weekend of the 3rd and 4th then its gonna be a short trip.

we rode in the Mankato area this weekend. Very thin in some spots and deep in others. Put on 87 miles in a short time then we went back home.

Well, if there is no snowfall at all between now and the 3rd....I say have another ride schedualed for March sometime. I will still be there on the 3rd will find some riding.
