We are heading out the 23rd for the weekend. Its looking kinda scarce but the guy at the lodge says they are still riding. I like to look at the webcam at www.wycololodge.com, they are on the bottom of the mountain and usually don't have near as much snow and it looks like they got maybe a foot. They also have links to the forecasts. Once we get back (if i remember) i'll let you know how it was.

I rode in the Snowies this weekend out of Albany, there is 24 to 26 inches of snow on the trails. Unless you know where you are going, don't go off the trails there. As for the summit, I haven't been up there myself. I have heard there is good snow on the back side. Around 3 to 4 feet. Still you have to be carefull of the rocks and tree stumps. You will be able to ride, but be really careful!

Good luck

We'll keep that in mind. They aren't grooming yet, are they? So since i bet they aren't, are the trails pretty tore up?
Thanks
(Even if there is hardly no snow, as long as I get to ride in circles, i'll be wide eyed and happy. dance.gif

Yeah...I was talking with a friend of mine tonight. Compared to what we are used to here in So. MN, it will be paradise. To some it would be marginal, but we'll find snow. I guess where we're staying is pretty much on or near the Summit. I know 10 day forecasts are about like flipping a coin, but it shows some precip for next week so hopefully they get a good dump before or when we're out there. Like corvetteatv7 said, as long as theres any snow we'll be happy. dance.gif

Where are you staying? We were out there four times last year, after riding in northern minnesota for three years and absolutely love it, but still like the atmoshpere in mn better.

Stayed there once last year and thats where we are heading today. We loved it last year. Great personal service and we still call Dave, the owner, almost everyday for his personal snow report. biggrin.gif He said as of yesterday, they were still riding, had about 24-28 in on the trails, but not to go off trail, because of the stumps and rocks. We'll see as we are leaving about 2 o'clock today and will be there about 10 tomorrow morning. Be back sunday and i'll letcha know how it was. revinmotion.gif

We just got back!!! It was much better than we expected. Snowy mountain had just enough at the lodge to ride down the road to get to more snow. We did some boondocking but had to be very careful of rocks and trees. The trails were rough because they aren't grooming but there was two - four feet most everywhere past the lodge. They are supposed to get slammed tonight all the way into wednesday. They are calling for a three day mountain blizzard that is supposed to drop 3-4 feet more. We were happy though as we were expecting there to be a foot or maybe two, and we would get to ride around a little, but we did some trails, hill climbs and boondocking, just have to watch for the rocks, stumps, and ponds/lakes, as most are not very frozen yet...at least not for me to go across. Have fun and be careful.

Awesome. Its snowing its butt off out there right now, and looks to keep it up through mid to late wednesday. You should be fine, as long as its not a white out and you can't ride anywhere. The I-80 summit looks pretty bad as well so be safe and hope they don't close the interstate down on ya.

Should be a butt load of snow there now.. The highways were shut down and they got big dump over the last few days..

Here's a link to some snow/weather info..

snotel Look for the Cinnebar station

Here's a few webcams , the tavern east/west is just east of the snowy's, and will give an idea of the snow.. You'll need to look in day light though.

How is the snow currently? We have a large group coming out to Med Bow 3-3, in the mud and snow express. Check out last weeks adventures from Cooke City and this years other archived photos from Togwotee and the Black Hills. MomsMotorSports.Com

For those of you heading up to Wyoming you can access the Keystone cameras at this site. It will show you the snow above Albany and around the Reservoir as well as Wycolo and the Albany Lodge. It will also give you snowfall history which is for the most part up to date.

See you on the trails.
