Me and a buddy are going to the Big Horns to ride the week of November 26 - December 2. Some others we know have shown interest but we would like some solid yes I'll be there answers. Needless to say we will be heading out from Milwaukee with the sleds and staying up at the Bear Lodge Resort in the Big Horn Mountians. We did the exact same trip last year that exact same week and it was unbelievable. However last year it was only us two and we rode with some people we just meet at the Lodge but the more the merrier. So let me know if you are interested in making the 16 Hour trek with us. Here's some pictures from last years trip just to give you a little idea of what your in for:

[size=1][size=1][size=1]the horns have a foot of snow as of tonite, we rode the 23rd of sept. here is a pic, blurry from lens fogged up. also have a pic last winter small avalanche my son was in , scared the he!! out of us but nobody hurt , only 3 ' deep. iwill figure out how to edit and add pic sooner or laterrrrrrrr

I called the lodge today with the intention of making a reservation, but their cancellation policy is tough. TOO many things going on to commit just yet. My group would consist of 2 people, with room for 2 more in the truck and covered trailer.

Anyhow, the lodge only has 2 rooms and 1 duplex condo remaining for that week. The duplex sleeps eight for $185 a night. If anyone is interested in getting in on the condo please IM me. I would be willing to make the reservation (and eat my portion if I can't go) if I could get a few more people in the condo.

posted a big review and got my arss chewed for a week.highlites, rode good similar to a m7 just heavier on computer scales ,621 stock with a 162, power was ok but didnt pull as hard as a stock 9oo king cat,felt about like my o6 X, we put 30 miles on it and lined um up ,my x took 2 sleds and held it,we did a 20 mph roll and i gave him 2 sleds and i could not pull any on him . i am sure it will improve as it breaks in. but didnt impress me , i get to ride my 07 X sat. morning, will let you all know how it runs, been out of town and my son put 42 miles on it last weekend said it is pretty strong, we'll see sat.

OMG!!! I can't belive they are that booked. Me and my buddy were going to make plans tonight but I worked late and it didn't happen. Last year it was a ghost town when we went. I'll have to talk to the crew and really get moving. I've been struggling finding time to get things together and i've been working extra hours and I just purchased a new tow vehicle two days ago and basically things have been real crazy for me latlley. Ill keep you up to date.

No things are all coming back together it seems. It was getting a little crazy for a second there but it seems as if everything is going to end up ok after all. Ill be sure to post any future trip as a new topic if and when any come up agian this winter.

if cooke doesnt have snow we will be up for sure, we dont ride cooke untill 30 " /horns are picking up a little snow every day, going to snow off and on thru thursday

Excellent. I am going to pick up the Mountain Lite today. Maybe Ill post some pictures of it when I get it home later. Hopefully two weeks from now well be riding some powder in the Big Horns.

good to hear!!! i picked up the new sled to day and raced around the grass a little bit to help get my fix but i just want to ride even more now then i did before and i didnt think that was even possible.

Planning on riding sometime near the end of December or in January sometime. It is hard to organize just yet. Upcoming overseas deployments and having to spend time with families prior to leaving makes it a cluster. Will be looking for people to join in on the ride. Anybody have anything planned as of yet in that time frame? Shoot me a PM or give a shout (218) 591-1511

i was looking to stay at the Bear Lodge Resort also .... one thing i am wondering about now is jetting for the elevation ... clutching shouldnt be too much different i would think .... any advice would be great ...

By the time you get out there you should have great snow everywhere. When we first arrived I was disappointed because it looked as if alot of there snow had melted and there was way less then last year when i went at the same time. However as wierd as it sounds this worked to our advantage. First off almost no one else was up there and second off we had to do some searching for good snow and everyday we managed to find some great untouched powder and amazing spots to ride. So this years trip went even better then last years even though at first I thought I'd end up disappointed.

Oh and as usual everyone at the Bear Lodge was awesome and they made us feel like one of the family. I love that place not to mention the food rocked. Lucky I was only up there for a week, any longer and i would have started getting real fat.

the gade 800 with the 136X16X1.75 walked all over it all day long. the phazer is good for boondocking and what not in powder and it rides super good and might even have a bit better rider position but on hills it doesn't have the power to climb like the gade. the phazer also felt really really light too even though it weighs in at 514lbs dry. i found that wierd too but that made it alot of fun to ride and it made it feel super easy to roll over in the powder.

so i guess overall its a super fun sled but it needs that supercharger kit to give it some more balls and i wouldn't be dropping that kind of money on it so it'll probably go on ebay some time this winter and ill end up with a summit xrs next year even though i didn't want to spend that much money on another sled. oh well i love to ride and sh!t happens.
