im down,....and about 8 of my riding buddies too right_on.gif where ya thinking? moosehead area...rockwood, jackman, rangeley snodeo, presque isle? anywhere in the county is good.............
sledhead32
if its mid week anywhere is fine. if weekend i suggest the county. riding.gif stays cooler for better conditions, predictable grooming, and more trails to choose from. its been my experience that everywhere else is to crowded with out of staters headbang.gif that don't want to drive that far north. I plan on being in the Greenville area by the wednesday after New Years,3rd,4th,5th,6th!!!

I know Big_Dog_D has a camp there and he'll be up,I think MSGME is talking about it too.

I'm going with at least 3,probably more like 5..

Keep this current boys and lets get something together!! right_on.gif

sorry,I'm an out-a-stater but I'll be there to ride!!! biggrin.gif

i actually grew up in rangeley maine ,and in all the years ive been riding maine trails,...id say millinocket and the forks area is usually the most crowded. i usually ride north of moosehead....and the trails are long/wide and ppl are sparse,.........and anything under 80 mph seems slow. riding.gif keep me posted guys.

i was thinkin caribou maybe? we stay at the crown park inn and the railroad bed is right there. but ya, lets keeps this ttt and start planning. we might be having grass drags in our field this year but next for sure. we just got done with a 1200' strip and it would be 500' foot runs. we could have a dootalk bar-b-que at the drags.
DooNH
Sounds fun right_on.gif

MSGME and Myself are putting together a BBQ. I have a 1800' + or- grass airstrip for grass drags. Roasting a pig, bean hole beans. Sometime in Oct details are soon to follow. I have a big hanger to work on the sleds in. I live in Central Maine.

Making it as far away as possible from the majority of people that may be interested in going.................BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cheers.gif

Weather permitting a mid week in the central part of the state seems like it would work much better and would have a bigger draw!
BIGblizzard
i suggested the county because 2 other ppl suggested it. also the trails are straighter and flatter with more snow.
YamaMachman
ttt
BIGblizzard
no because, last winter we didnt have much snow to ride in the mooshead area and i was trying to be safe by suggesting the county because the riding is alot better and faster, o ya how many miles did you ride this past winter?> i dont even care what you think dry.gif

Just my opinion but if you want NOBODY around Ft Kent then Head west. St phamphield (sorry for spelling) trail wasent open last year and can sometimes get a litle busy, but if you know the area the boondocking is INSANE. Bring extra gas its a long way to gas sometimes. I know its a long way for alot of people to travel. Or Greenville to Ft Kent, that would be a good trip.
I'm in for whatever happens. If some people wanted to meet in Bangor and ride together, I could take 4 others with me.

They opened up Escort Station near the end of the winter. That was a good trip. There are somany places to explore up there. Just have to get permission in some Places. Its all about respect for the land owner and knowing who to contact. some very nice people in Fort Kent. My family is from there.
-John
BIGblizzard
sooo is the ride still going on in greenville? weres the meeting place?
Maine-doo
Mabey if its Greenville, it will be the same time Moosehead Motorsports has the drag reces that would be fun. I think they doo it a few times a year?
-John
BIGblizzard
might it be packed that weekend?
BAMMER
I'm going to Greenville(providing there is snow) the week after New Years, thats a long enough trip for me,so whomever is there is there... cheers.gif
BIGblizzard
i hear ya bammer! right_on.gif
BAMMER
I'm not trying to be a prick or anything,if theres snow in Greenville I gotta free place to stay!

Plus it's 10 hours on the road to get there,I'd love to go to Fort Kent but my butt will already be hurting from the wife kicking it if I told her I was going that far!!! biggrin.gif

BIGblizzard
i guess that would work out
Maine-doo
So Greenville, What are peoples plans for where to stay. For the Fly-In we usually stay at Kellies Landing, rent the big portion 10 - 12 people kitichen and everything. Just curious where people were planning on staying if there is a date confirmed I was going to make reservations sometime soo, I will have a few friends going but there will be room for more people to sta.

-John
BIGblizzard
will we ride one day or how long?
BAMMER
I've been to Greenville once, last year and had to stay at Pittston farm as Greenville was abit lax in the snow department, although we rode down there and it wasn't all that bad, pretty good really. What is the norm for snow being in place for right after New Years??? Always, most of the time, usually, probably, maybe???

I hope it works out guys,I think it would be great fun to meet/ride with all of ya! cheers.gif revinmotion.gif

I'm in!!! As Maine Doo stated..... we're going to plan a Maine-Doo BBQ for this fall. I've been traveling my ARSS off so I haven't had time to post. Hmmmmm.... I could be doing it right now?? Dumb A$$. OK I'll do it today.

Greenville sounds good to me. The closer the better so the southern gang can join in. First round is on me! cheers.gif cheers.gif

BIGblizzard
sounds good!

I'm in for Greenville! I'm all set for a place to stay but for those who are looking try these places.

Indian Head Motel; It's a cheap no frills kinda place.

The Chalet; Nicer, right on the lake

Liesure Life; Nice place restaurant on site plenty of parking.

Black Frog; Rooms right above the bar & restaurant park the sleds right on the lake.

Kellys Landing; BAsicly the same as the Black Frog, no real bar but close to Woody's which is a bar, it's the outskirts of town, but that's still only 2 miles or so.

All places are within a few minutes of downtown.
BIGblizzard
so is the ride one day?
BIGblizzard
lets bring this thread ttt a week before the bar-b-q'
