I read someone took theirs out and it made filling the tank a lot easier.

Took mine out right away. Does fill easier as it seems I'm always out of fuel. Just
got ahold of it with a needle nose & kept twisting needle nose until I had it crimped all the way around so lip couldn't seat in groove of tank, then pulled hard & it comes rightout. Make sure if it slips aliitle you don't get plastic shavings in the tank
(could plug a jet), good idea to wedge a small rag down in tube before you start.
300mi & no problem with doing it.

I have the updated gauge but I don't think it works right yet if you take the white tube out can you stick the tank to find out how much you have?

smile.gif CBR: I don't know if the stick trick will work on the REVs. I usually syphon the gas out through the fuel pump hose (that way you don't get any more gas out of the tank than the pump can get out) and then fill it one gallon at a time and note the gauge readings. riding.gif

you can not note the gas gauge reading because it is always different. If the sled is tilted a little or you are sitting on it or sitting on it with riding gear its always different. TgC_emoticon142.gif I think I am going clear if the tank is the same size.

I noticed mine seemed to be eratic. Clear may be on my sled too.

I think it's an emmisions thing to keep from filling it up and expanding and pushing gas out the overflow. My 98 Mtn Max has one too, but it goes straight down and doesn't interfere with fueling.

Ok, I got the white tube out. It was a wrestling match, but I won. cool.gif

HOWEVER: I'm not sure that's a good idea. The gas lid screws on more softly now, no positive "ok, that's enough". There is a foam gasket in the cap and I think it's seating against the gasket now instead of the tube. The gasket pulled away from the edge of the groove it sits in. And the top edge of the tank isn't wide enough or smooth enough to support that foam gasket............me thinks.............. huh.gif

Check yours out before you jump in there.

I'm thinking about putting a clear tank on if the gauge is as inaccurate as it seems to be. So if that cap needs the tube I'll know better.

There is a lot more room for filling now, and I can see when it's getting full. Your choice.

Hoots: How does the gasket in your cap look??

Can we remove the tube, cut it off and reinstall it ? That way the larger sealing surface would still be there, and the flow restrictor would be gone!!!!

ohmy.gif traction: I had to rip the thing to shreds to get it out, so I don't think that part will work. BUT...............the tubes may be available from Ski-Doo. And since you're right about "putting it back in" can be done cause it's just a push in fit. So, if the tubes are replaceable, you've hit the nail on the head. biggrin.gif

Pics tomorrow and I'll call my dealer about ordering myself a tube and let ya know! cheers.gif cheers.gif

Called my dealer, the tubes aren't available separately, they only come with the tank. A clear tank is $152, questionable availability. If you decide to go ahead, here's the pics.

I wasn't having much luck until I took a sharp X-Acto knife and made this cut.
