I am NOT knocking on Seadoo Clinic one bit here at all.

I bought a reman crank from them about 2 weeks ago. Got the motor back together and the sled just ripped like no ones business. (2006 800 p-tech) Today the engine bogged so i shut it down. It had been doing this about once or twice a ride since I had my mechanic install the new reman crank. Well today when it bogged and I shut er down, she locked up. I was able to get the engine to turn over again my spinning the primary. Engine started and ran barely and ran for 3 seconds and locked up again. No metal on plugs. Could there of been a bad bearing on the reman'd crank? Is this even heard of from them? I really hope its something else. Everything looked great when the engine was put back together 300 miles ago. Also like I said it happened today so the engine is not apart yet. Anyone got anything or ideas?

Did you make sure all of the air was out of the cooling system after the rebuild?

You need to talk to Mark at Seadooclinic. If their workmanship caused a failure, I guarantee it will be warrantied.

Mark at the SeaDoo Clinic rebuilt my crank shaft and when I got it back it didnt fit the case ? They told me it was my fault because I didnt send the case with it?

Then When I got it back I found there was no Isoflex grease in the bearings ! So I called and they said they do not use it this and that I should drill the upper half of the case to lube like the older motors ( gas and oil mix ) from the case? Hmmmmm When was he going to tell me ? ? ? After it blew up?

So I called them and they said they charge another $50.00 to drill the case for oiling ? ? ? OK mister gullable (ME) sent the case half and I got it back drilled and put it together............ Soon after it locked up like yours! the mag side inner and outer bearings were totally wiped out and got sucked through the case and wiped out my cylinder that was just re nicasilled and new piston Grrrrrrrr I am so mad I didnt call them back ! ! ! !

Do not trust them! ! ! ! I can see the PTO side hole they drilled was ok and went between the bearings inner and outer to lube them.......... But the Mag side dead headed directlty on top of the bearing race! ! ! ! ! NO LUBRICATION ! ! ! ! They are IDIOTS ! ! ! Run they are HACKS ! ! ! !

I rode all day, 150 or so miles before this happened. It did not get hot.

I think i hope i read on here that they did away with the drilling of the case with the sealed bearings. Like i said I hope its not their crank but I did not want to leave that out of the question. Hopefully I can get it tore apart today and see what went wrong.

What you are saying in your last sentence is that its the holes they drilled that caused a problem. Not necessarily a bad crank right?

A friend had his Powertec all rebuilt by them at the end of last year. He got maybe 100 miles before the snow went. This fall the motor wouldnt turn over because the mag cylinder was full of oil. He called them and they told him something like the seals may not have broken in yet. What a load. They didnt seem to want to take any responsibility . Great place. Good luck.

This is just great. Now I am REALLY hoping something else went. I do not want to fight with them about something.

To answer your question about the crank itself, Yes the crank was great after the adjustment to fit the case !

I checked the crank on a surface plate on V blocks and rotated it using a dial indicator and there was less than .001 of run out and then assembled the motor and put a degree wheel on the crankshaft and checked to see if the cylinders were 180 degrees apart and they were within .001 so that part was great............... So now I am sitting on a expensive pile of parts..............

Mark at the seadoo clinic is very easy to get along with, the first thing you say when he answers the phone is hello, not what the hell are you guys doing my motor blew up.Ive used marks products in engines running 30hp more than stock and spinning an extra 1000 rpms than stock with no adverse effects on lifespan. The parts do need to be installed carefully and broke in in a certain way or they will not last .His fat bearing retro fit on the pto side is a culmination of years of experience and some trial and error, but even the failures have lasted longer than the OEM set ups .Give him the chance to handle your particular situation before you jump to any conclusion as to how it might work out.Airing it out here before he even knows that you have a problem gets everybody fired up over something that may get worked out easily just wont help your efforts.Find out what happened first then start the discussion Good luck ,,

For everone following this thread, it is indeed something in the bottome end of the engine. My thoughts are it had a defective bearing installed but im not sure. I am going to call mark in the morning and be as nice as I can be. This guy don't have another 1200 or so to drop into the sled again in less than a month. I hope something can be worked out. Ill keep ya posted.

CRANKSHAFT:
PM me a price for that sled if you will sell in a couple weeks.
