Here is my 06 and I have the same truck now but an 08. I actually find the 08 tows a lot nicer than the 06 did with identical engines and 4WD set ups. Not sure what changes were made when they changed to the new platform but I like it better for towing. Looking at going Diesel next but need to do some research first. Love the 08 Duramax AK FULL THROTTLE posted earlier.

Thanks, if there is anything you need to know just ask.

I have an '08 Silverado. The front ends are completely new. They use coil springs up front instead of torsion bars and new rack and pinion steering. They are great. A buddy of mine just upgraded his '05 to an '09 after driving mine.

This is all she wrote for now. Getting a D-Max first thing when my wallet stop being anorexic and starts eating again... Lol Didn't want all of you with shady rides like me feeling all lonely when going through this thread. wink.gif But it definately does dece for an older K1500. Never had an issue with being able to pull anything smoothly. As far as MPG i guess if you start with nothing, you won't be dissapointed when get nothing for MPH while towing! Ha.. Get an average of 15mpg whether I have a loaded heavy duty race car trailer attached or not... not sure why that is really.

That is on the 1/2 ton models, 3/4 and up are still using torsion.

It's a comfortable ride, the air shocks in the back keep it level. Nothing beats the room of a 4 door pickup on roadtrips or just being able to throw gear inside to keep warm and dry. I'm definitely lacking some power with the 5.3. My next one will have to have the 6.2 or I'll have to move up to an Escalade or the almighty Duradiesel.

Here is a picture of when I bought it. I can't get any of my towing pictures of it resized to fit here.
