Hi, I just a 550 park with 950 miles on it, for the kids, wondering if there is any issues with these sleds, what look out for. Some told me that some people were having problems with the 550 engine due to the pipe not right for it ? All input welcome as this sled is new to me ( kids). thanks for your time. headbang.gif

NO it does not, will add later and maybe larger windshield. Is the 550f a good engine in the rf platform, any burn downs when held wide open or mid range. dry.gif

Kepp an eye on the carb boots, they are of very low quality.
Just bought a new leftover 09, and they were already cracked

No problems with mine........2200 miles. Pin it and have fun.

Burn down talk?.......first I ever heard of it.

All this carb boot cracking talk...........both my 550 and 300 still look new. Don't know why others are having issues.

Hi Swish,

The carb boot talk is real. It happened to several of us at least on the 300's. However, there was a point in time where it is said that the rubber compound was changed to a better quality and hopefully that lessened future problems. Some of the boot problems were caused after folks had jets changed and the carb was not re-mounted correctly. The local dealer here mounted the carb. incorrectly on two machines that I observed and thus the carb could bounce up and down. It is a different sort of clamp on the 300 that goes around the boot as well as a post that holds the carb down.

I have not heard of any 550 "burn downs". I have heard of lots of broken boots with pictures but only one on the 550.
