90 cheyenne, finished

Nice 139" track, 503 engine, and tranny. Rebuilt the skid and did some hood repairs and paint. Got a ridiculous amount of hours in that seat. Put all new bearings, slides, carbides, belts, cover, and some used 3/4" picks. Got about $600 in it total. I will use it to open up my access to main trail and pull a small skip drag. Would you post some photos of the gear box setup on that , I'm playing with a couple of those transmissions and would appreciate some visual references . Your time on the seat was well spent , thats some valuable storage space that you gained there

It has a "park" position between forward and reverse, eliminating the need for a parking brake. I think it uses a different drive axle than the standard safari chaincase or the older cheyenne gearbox. I wasn't sure where the change was , just that mine was different than my 85 parts book . The 85 should have had the gear cluster at the top allowing the use of the stock exhaust . What sled is that? That was a good deal!! The box pictured is going into my 85 Skandic ( Citation chassis ) . The parts book specs the same exhaust for standard and reverse applications so it must clear with the gear cluster on top , but they also had the brake rotor on the outboard end of the drive axle The Ebay purchase is from the same guy and he included the driven pulley and drive axle for a small extra cost . I always check with him first when I'm looking for parts , great prices and and reasonable shipping ! He's been selling parts and used sleds for 30 years .

The only problem I had was with the front suspension springs...I replaced at least one every year. Perhaps I should have replaced them in sets. You should try and source some spares, and yes there is a left and right.

OK, I looked through my misc parts and determined that I must have sold the spare springs with the machine. Too bad as I would have donated them to you. Not sure if Safari springs fit the Cheyenne. Those were common machines around here, hopefully you'll find some. Good Luck.

I used to have a long track Tundra for breaking trails, but I sold it.
