HERE is alink on ebay to one like mine JD

I really do like it
It only comes in one size, but I am 6'1" and 195 lbs. - its fits me perfect

I tried on the coresaver today and like mentioned above it wasnt that comfy
hard to put on and the kidney belt was riding up with minimal movement

think I may stick to the one I am using now
more back protection would be nice, but hey you cant have everything!@ haha!

I guess the thing I like about the kind like the 2 I posted is that it makes for a layer. I got a Klim revolt pullover this year and also have the Klim Powerxross pullover so I can throw on a t-shirt then that protection jersey then either of my pullovers depending on the conditions of the day and be good 2 go.

Yeah that was recommended by another friend as well, so I will keep my eyes out. Thanks G! To this day I still wish I could've stuck around that extra day and taken that ride with you over to Baker or wherever it was. That was a fun night of hanging out and talking sleds.

Hopefully you'll get another chance; should have 3 running sleds in the garage soon so just let me know if you get back out this way.

Cheers,

G

Have an older 661 pressure suit, love it but it is a tad warm and I think the elbow protection is more than is needed for sledding, may cut the sleeves off of mine this season and just make a vest with shoulder pads out of it.

I don't think any of the sixsixone, or klim ones are ISR legal are they? That is why the beeware and tec-vest ones are more money is they are ISR approved. They have to stop the sharp studs from oval racing, and snowcross from getting to the skin. They arn't for impact as much as they are for puncture protection. Depending on your riding, you may not need the tec-vest or the beeware.

If you do want a beeware vest, PM me as I can get a pretty good deal on them (in Canada)

used tek vest for 5 years now. I dont even get on a sled anymore without it. This is going to come across the wrong way to alot of people. Maybe even you Jed, Dont skimp on protection. By less parts or stash some in the kitty for a few months or whatever you need to do.

I use the super sport http://www.tekrider.com/ps_02.html
But without the shoulder pads.

I dislocated my left shoulder in febuary. barrel rolled my sled carving on hard snow at 65 mph like an idiot. the tunnel or ski or what ever tagged me in mid air hit me on my upper arm between my bi and tricep. bruised 1.5 months and numb with very very little feeling for almost six. I cant help but think what if I had those shoulder pads, and what if it prevented my injury.

I'm $20k total bill for surgery, therapy. And an immeasurable amount of pain and wasted time. Wore a reduction splint all day and all night. for 2 months. missed work for 3.5 months and even with insurance $5k worth of deductable. Gained weight, missed 4 months of riding. Only riding i got done was infront of the TV.

My point to this long winded rant is what seems like alot of money, isn't if you get messed up in an accident. I think about it almost every day. what if i had those $75 shoulder pads....... I would have paid that 100 times over if it had a chance of preventing what happend to me.

I've taken bars to the chest twice with a vest. Once without. Man does that hurt. also fell into a hole with poor visibilty one day. got bucked off and had the back tip of the right front ski jab me in the ribs on my left backside. I dont even want to imagine what may have been without a vest on that one.

If you can at all help it. Dont short change safety. Cause when bad stuff happens.................oh man.... By far and above times one million the most un fun thing ever.

I had the 661 Core Saver, and I will say this, it is HANDS DOWN better in every way than the Tek Vest, this was made for MX Stunters so it's made to take serious impact, 661 also has some of the best spinal protection in the business. I got out of sledding for a few years so sold some gear, one of the things being my core saver, well back into sledding and the first thing I ordered was another 661 Core Saver, just a size bigger hahaha, I went with the model pictured as that is what I had before and really liked it, but 661 does have a newer version out there now. It is a tighter fit, but it's a good tight, things aren't getting beat to crap ditch banging.

Got my 661 Vapor yesterday, tested it out on dirtbike today! It's really comfortable, and you feel safe behind it all. I haven't taken any abuse with it yet, so i can't say how well it does that way. My only complaint is that it doesn't have an padding on the sides of your ribs. that's about the only weak spot in it. tongue.gif

'06 Summit 600...
- white/black crossover pattern on hood and console
- BMP can
- K&N air filters
- 18/45 gearing
- Duck899's secondary clutch free-floater
- "holy" clutchguard
- headlight delete (little light instead)
- seat diet, all plastic on tunnel pulled
- swaybar delete
- HRP ice scratchers
- multiple styles of venting
- 6" riser, MSR moto bars w/ speedguard handguards
- doo tunnel supports
- multiple hack jobs throughout, many parts intentionally missing...

does it qualify as a mod yet?

Good choice bro. your not going to regret it. Get the shoulder pads too. Did ya get a supersport or a trail pro?

I'm debating on either going with a trail pro or the SX pro lite.

I have a super sport now, but i've kind of out grown it. It was a bit small on my last year in the shoulders and i rode with it anyway. The supersport is a great vest too. Nice and warm. Only reason i'm debating on the other two is because they offer more protection.

I have both a tek vest and the EVS Revolution 4. Both are good protectors. The EVS is a little lighter and not quite as much protection. It is cooler to wear so I use it racing motorcycles. The Tek vest is IRS leagal and that is why i got it. Most others chest protectors are not IRS leagal. Both are good. If you are not racing and don't need to be ISR legal I would go with the EVS or 661 core saver because they offer good protection and are alot cheeper.

Just my $.02

I have the Klim and never had it save me yet but it fits well. It is kinda warm. I start shedding my coat pretty early and just use a under armor shirt under the protection and a long sleeve jersey over the protection.

Last year i bought some nice knee pads i like. They bend at the loints with your knee. they have saved me some pain. Now all i need to doo is to start wearing a helmet:)
