Here is the rivet tool that makes the job easy - no problem with 1/4" rivets.

Good Morning,

The A-Arm protectors are still on sale here but have gone up to $15 for a pair of yellow. They add a little bit of float and slippery.

They are easy to install (3 clamps) once you figure out that there are two different size clamps.

Man, lots of summer dirt yet in those pics, Dan!

We've been having a raging blizzard going on here the past 24 hours, our first of the year. Tends to fill in the holes, but its not straight down stuff, so still plenty of bare ground out there with the driving wind.

Its a start. We're well on our way. The son got his sled out today.

haven't bought my protectors or skidplate yet, spent all my petty cash on elan finds. Got 5 of them now. Need to do a little prioritizing I guess.

Ha, yea, I've just been cleaning up what I need to get the parts on. Once that is done I'll drag them up by the house where the water is and clean the machines up. That is good that you are getting some snow. We have a storm coming in Friday according to the weather reports.

My rev plate showed up late yesterday. Looking at Hacksaw's and Swisher's I'm trying to decide on whether to trim or not to trim and the best place for the rivets. It looks like Hacksaw has the high up rivets to catch the metal. I'm leaning towards not trimming put possibly rounding the top but still thinking about it. I hope you have a good winter this year.

Ha, I wasn't making any stab on the condition of your machinery, I was saying there was a lot of dirt in your pics, meaning all I saw was bare ground....as in, no snow!

Can't be much help on the skid plate install...am sure you'll figure it out and make it look good.

Hi,

I finally have my rev plate on. I decided to trim it like Swish did since it needed more flexibility to have a flat spot against the plastic in the front and also to not accidentally shove down on it.

Here are the front rivets - put them in first. The bar from the standard kit was very helpful in making everything easy to align.

Here is what the front rivets look like from the inside. This is the weakest link. I may have to drill these out, get longer ones and fabricate some sort of backing plate as I'm worried about the stress on the plastic. But the nose cone is tough so will watch it for awhile.

Here are the rivets towards the back of the plate - 1-3/16" and 2 - 1/4" steel. I also put two 3/16 rivets in the center bar.

I think there will be enough clearance with the A-arm protectors but if not there is room to trim them. Hopefully this plate will work out. I think it will be fine when going forwards. When dragging sideways the plate may act like a snow scoop but I guess we will soon find out. About a foot of snow dropped up high last night.

How about one more pic. I caught these two arguing about who was getting in the newly-finished trailer first. The white & yellow one won the fight after laying down the "Well, I've got Electric Start" trump card. Tru dat, I agreed...

Making sure the A-Arm protectors don't bind with the skid plate . . .
