I just want to let everyone know about when you call Pines and ask them if they can do warranty work on your sled the 2nd question they ask you is "Did you buy it here", and if you say no then you here chuckling "well it will be at least a week". I thought warranty was warranty. As the case with most people, the dealership where the sled was bought is not always the one you are near when a problem occurs, and mine was a simple code error that needed to be reset. I know I am not the only one this has happened to there.

A cry heard around the world. Cars, Trucks, sled are all the same. It seems if you don't know the owner of the dealership (or at least the service writer) you get screwed.
My buddy had the same problem at Powersports in Regina. Except he bought the sled there!!!

On the upside...PS is completely taking care of my machine right now..no questions asked...in all the years we've owned sleds, I can remember only a handful of times when a dealer went out of his way to make the customer happy like this. We'll see how the service is when I get the machine back, but so far quite impressed.

I think with the change of ownership they will be better but for now they wont get my business. Also when I called my dealer to get my sled in he only asked when I was bringing it in.

Had a similar experience with Lintlaw...seems like they want to push volume...service used to be pretty personal there, now it seems we're just a phone call.

Yeah,
I ordered some ski-rods from PS in Regina. I said I wanted rods for Precision Skis. When I got there, I was in a hurry, didn't really look at them, just paid and left. Turned out to be for Pilots. I will take some blame here, cause I should have looked at them, but you would think that when you ask for a specific product, they would give it to you at an AUTHORIZED DEALER. Problem is that the parts guys and gals don't know anything. Probably don't even own a sled. I heard that the main parts guy from the old Powersports came to the new PS, but was let go recently. Maybe they are making some changes for the good.

i talked about this before but Im still pissed off at PowerSports. I took my sled in for warrranty work (chaincase blew up) in the middle of dec just before christmas I called them back to see what was happening with my sled told me they are waiting for parts (been there for about week and a half at this point). Then on Dec 30 I called them back to see when I am getting my sled back they said waiting for parts now because of christmas I understood why the wait but got curious. So I called around the province to all the dealerships and they told me the parts could be here in about 3 days nothing is backordered (chaincase, chain, bearings, seals, bolts, gears all readily available). So I went to PowerSports to get my sled to take it elsewhere and the guy at the parts counter told me the parts are still on backorder I said I didnt care I am here to pick up my sled and going somewhere else. So I got my sled loaded and opened up the side panel and my chaincase was all torn apart so I went to go get all the wrecked pieces. I went to to see the mechanics in the back to get my parts and he asked me if I am gonna take my parts and put my sled back together myself? I told him the guy at the front told me the parts are on backorder the mechanic laughed and said they showed up 3 days after I dropped my sled off they just havent done the work cause the guy never scheduled my sled in. So I wasent impressed they had lied to me. If they told me that they just cant do the work right away cause they are backed up I would of understood but he lied to me and told me my parts werent in when they were there the whole time. I lost 2 weeks of riding cause of that when I was on christmas holidays. I will never buy anything from them again they have to be the worst dealer I ever dealt with.

My experience with pines happened a few years ago when travelling from Saskatoon to Candle Lake (the first leg of a huge weekend ride), My throttle cable Frayyed and jammed at about half throttle in the trails through the forrest by Macdowall. I had a MXZx 440 and managed to limp it back to the town to meet the chase truck. I rode into P.A. and was at pines by 1 or so on the Friday hoping that they would have a cable that would work to get me going again, they did not have any cables in stock, oh well right.... But then as I was leaving I saw the identical sled in their used stock! I went back in and asked if the sled was for sale, yep. Knowing that parts if ordered on a Friday usually get to the dealer mid week. I offered to pay new price for the throttle cable off of the used sled and they could order a new one in for the doner. Not a big deal I thought and thought for sure I was riding again. NO DEAL! The guy just shrugged me off and pretty much told me to get lost. It looked like the sled had been sitting there all year and was quite burried. Nope... sombody was coming to take it for a test ride that afternoon... ya right. Although I haven't asked to borrow off of a used sled before I have heard of guys getting parts off of showroom sleds to get them riding as quick as possible. Anyways, MAD I left and went to the poo dealer to see if I could get a cable to work. Found one that was close but of of an injected sled and with a little mods I got a cable to work and I was able to carry on.

I will not step foot in the doors of pines again! I know almost any other dealer would have went the extra to get a guy riding again.

Other than that we had a great ride. rode to candle, did the Sask 100 on Saturday, woke up Sunday and rode to Meeting lake (by Spiritwood), woke up monday and rode back to Saskatoon.

Saw this post and thought I would share my experience.

See ya on the snow
